Native American Culture Assessment
What is the artifact?
I used a Google form to create an assessment on Native American history. In order to test students' understanding of the content, I designed different types of questions. Using a Google form was a very user-friendly and efficient way to create an online assessment. I will definitely be using the resource again to create future assessments and activities.
How did you create the artifact?
Based on the type of response for which I was looking, I created short answer, multiple choice, and other styles of questions. It is important to design various question styles in assessment so that teachers can ensure that content is mastered. After gathering content and determining what form would be most appropriate for each question, I inputted the information into the Google form. I also made all questions "required" so that students are forced to attempt each question.
Reflection
After creating an assessment and viewing student scores, it is important for teachers to reflect on their designing process. If students scored well overall on the assessment, the content and questioning must have been appropriate. On the other hand, if students struggled with the assessment, there may have been some unfair or confusing questioning. Thus, teachers must observe student progress and accept feedback in order to efficiently reflect on their process.
